We have shown how an adaptable distributed microkernel can be used to safely export the network hardware and provide both adaptability and system distribution so that each one could benefit from the other. To demonstrate the feasibility of this approach the basic abstractions provided by Off have also been explained.
User level applications (including distributed operating systems servers), implementing custom abstractions instead of re-inventing the ones already provided by the system can be implemented taking advantage of system distribution. Other benefits mentioned elsewhere [2] which make easier load balancing, replication and migration in object systems would arise too.
